Heat Pressing Vinyl On 100 Polyester
If your bag has pockets on the inside you may have an issue pressing your design because of the pocket seams.
Heat pressing vinyl on 100 polyester. The shirts are 100 polyester with easyweed stretch and electric that was applied with a heat press at 280 degrees. The first thing to do is cut the material and weed the excess. 350 f for 10 seconds. Some transfers sheets can also be used on 50 to 100 percent polyester spandex rayon and other fabrics.
Cotton fabrics require a much higher temperature than polyester ones. If it is 100 polyester you can take elasti prints down to 275f. Test a small spot of the bag with your heat press before you press the design. 2 of the shirts left scorch marks and after washing the other 3 the vinyl came off.
This chart shows which heat applied materials can be used on several frequently used fabrics including cotton polyester nylon and leather. Heat pressing at 380 f for 15 seconds would deliver great results. Some polyester is super sensitive to heat. If you d like the picture you re printing to look faded or old you can use these settings to achieve that.
For proper application you will also want to use medium firm pressure 6 8. I recommend the bottom of the bag. In general terms somewhere between 270 and 300 degrees is likely to be ideal. However keep in mind that a cover sheet can also reduce the temperature reaching the transfer application by another 10 degrees.

You can use glitter vinyl with polyester cotton and other fabrics. I tacked the first 2 colors at 5 secs each and the final press with third color at 15 sec. Material fabric selection chart please note. If you want to heat press polyester then it is best to stick to a slightly lower temperature than you would use on more heat resistant fabrics such as cotton.
