Polyshades On Floors
Polyshades is not recommended for use on floors.
Polyshades on floors. Minwax polyshades on my entire floor you could try to put a coat of polyurethane or two on top of the floor but as big g mentioned you re using it for a non recommended use. However used simply as a vehicle for the stain to be applied or yes painted on top of an existing coating and then topped with a polyurethane that is recommended for floors polyshades is ideal. Not sure how well it will hold up to foot traffic. The thinking of minwax is they cannot stand behind their product in flooring use since as the wear layer wears the colour density changes as well which to most users would be unacceptable.

Instead stain with minwax wood finish and topcoat with minwax super fast drying polyurethane for floors or minwax fast drying polyurethane.
Can polyshades be used on floors. Perhaps not ideal but likely at least acceptable. The reason it wont hold up on the floor is that the stain that is mixed with the urethane makes the finish coat too soft. Maybe using a deck grade stain sealant will help but really can t say what it will do for looks of your floor.
On a scrap piece of wood practice brushing out a few strokes of polyshades to get a feel for how it flows onto the wood.
